The K-12 Literacy Curriculum Specialist designs, implements and presents timely, knowledgeable and successful sales presentations to customers and committees to aid in the sales of company products; develops presentation strategy based on a thorough knowledge of the product and the customer; conducts follow up in-service on company products for customers who have purchased Pearson products, pilots and customers evaluating materials; up-sells product during in-service sessions; conducts model lessons as a function of presale or in-service activities; participates in the strategic planning for major adoptions and campaigns; provides knowledgeable consul back on behalf of Pearson at exhibits, conferences, hearings, conventions, sales meetings and pilots or validation studies, provides knowledgeable information for the development and revision of products; may assist marketing and editorial in specific projects such as reading manuscript and assisting in writing/field testing manuscript; communicates service activities, market trends and customer needs to management.
Strong background in elementary and/or secondary literacy curriculum required.Previous successful elementary and/or secondary classroom teaching experiences highly recommendedMinimum of 3 years of successful educational consulting experiences preferred.BS is required and a master's is preferred.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.Working experience using Word, PowerPoint and Publisher a strong plus.Extensive travel including over night travel required; requests are sometimes made with short notice.Must be able to lift and carry sample books, promotional papers and items, display boards, and easels.
