The position is responsible for the management and performance of a team of associate editors in the development of new textbooks, textbook revisions, and other course–related products signed by the Acquisition Editors. Additionally, this position requires the ability provide leadership, training, and mentorship for Associate Editors, to lead multiple projects, and to manage and oversee management of relationships with designated third-party freelancers and vendors.

Qualifications include the following:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and related work experience
• At least 3 years of book publishing preferably in the textbook area with a college publisher
• Ability to effectively negotiate contracts and create and manage budgets related to editorial development projects
• Ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to learn new technologies and evaluate evolving content/business needs
• Experience and proven ability to supervise authors, freelancers, SMEs, third party vendors, and in-house staff
• Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
