Acquisition Editor (Computer Graphics, Business Info Systems) - Ideally Boston areaCompany:   Large Educational PublisherLocation:     Boston area or possibly remote for proven candidateStatus:        Full-Time Salary:        Commensurate with Experience Description: Our Client is in need of an Acquisition Editor for Computer Graphics, Business/Mangement Information System books for the professional/reference and Higher Ed markets.

This person will:    • Acquire Prof/Ref & grad level textbooks in Computer Graphics and Business Info Systems    • Revitalize an aging, but sizable back list of Computer Graphic books    • Have previous Acquisitions experience in technology/computer books    • Have experience with digital content, video and social networking    • Be familiar with developing and maintaining a solid list of potential author contacts    • Need to travel up to 25% for conferences and campus visits    • Be creative, innovative, organized, results oriented individual    • Be involved in US and possibly some International Marketing efforts     • Conduct competitive research and analysis on similar industry products    • Work with colleagues regarding product development and marketing     • Be involved in various industry conferences as well as campus visitsQualifications needed are:    • College degree    • 3-5 years editorial experience and/or hard science experience    • A degree in sciences is a plus but not required    • Sales and marketing experience is a plus    • Must have experience with Excel, MS Word, etc.
