Primary responsibilities include:

  • Execute integrated sales and marketing initiatives across all online platforms, project managing all site enhancements to continually improve functionality and the customer experience while strategically growing this sales channel
    • Develop and implement all marketing plans for Vista Higher Learning’s e-commerce site (VHL Direct.com)
    • Capitalize on sales and marketing opportunities on our daily customer (teachers, professors, students) landing page (VHLCentral.com)
    • Serve as the marketing administrator for VHL’s corporate website; schedule and monitor content, ensuring engaging content that is essential to company goals
  • Develop and execute a social media plan to increase VHL’s brand awareness, search engine rankings, and visitor traffic to our sites. Implement and manage day-to-day social media efforts.
  • In collaboration with our sales teams uncover issues and ensuing opportunities to drive prospective customers to our online site, creating and implementing strategies and sales tools (promotions, contests, etc.) to drive online sales
  • Ensure that the optimal online experience is achieved for multiple users through an understanding of Vista’s target audiences as well as analysis of customer and prospect online behavior.
  • Perform market and competitive analysis to maintain up-to-date knowledge on changing trends, pricing, business models, social media policies, web/SEO technologies, etc.
  • Demonstrate success generating and implementing a web strategy that leads to increased site traffic, enhanced customer experience, increased conversion rates and increased sales revenue
  • Establish web site metrics to analyze and report on traffic and overall performance, recommending and implementing improvements
  • Partner with our internal IT team to drive the development of the web site including site functionality, performance optimization and maintenance
  • Research and recommend additional online/e-commerce opportunities and work to develop and implement. Open new business with leading on-line booksellers and student-to-student on-line sales.

The ideal candidate possesses a degree in Marketing, Business or related fields and 7+ years of marketing experience including increasing knowledge and experience managing a web site, online advertising, digital/interactive communications, online audience development and social marketing (marketing to students would be a plus); knowledge of the latest Internet trends and business models with a good understanding of students’ online behavior; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; strong analytical skills; strong attention to detail; good project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, managing multiple projects simultaneously; excellent organization skills; the ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team; flexibility; and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, growing organization.  A passion for growing an online sales channel is a must!
